The Network Weaver Consultants Network is a loosely-affiliated group of consultants who provide a wide range of network services for organizations, networks and communities.  All of the consultants have taken a 5 month intensive practicum on network consulting led by June Holley and Kristin Johnstad. 

June Holley

June has been weaving economic and community networks for more than 25 years. In 1981 she discovered complexity science and became intrigued with the process of transformation. How could communities change in ways that would make them good places for everyone?

With others in Appalachian Ohio, she catalyzed cascades of experimentation, observing and documenting the dynamics that enabled many hundreds of people to start and then expand businesses. With these entrepreneurs, she mobilized dozens of area organizations to collaborate, self-organize and create an environment that would help these businesses innovate and work together.

After twenty years as executive director of the Appalachian Center for Economic Networks, she stepped down to devote her energies to helping communities around the globe form Smart Networks by training and supporting Network Weavers. She helped clients use Smart Network Analyzer social network mapping software to understand and enhance their networks. Her recent Smart Networks projects have involved communities, regions, statewide collaborations, healthcare and hospital systems, and national learning and innovation networks. She is also available as a keynote speaker or workshop presenter.

During 2013, June is shifting her energies to supporting the infrastructure needed so that network and self-organizing strategies can expand rapidly throughout the world. She is

1.  creating forums to develop more consultants and leadership organizations working from a network frame:  she has co-lead a 5-month intensive virtual network consultants practicum for 21 consultants,  and is working on a proposal with Leadership Learning Community to develop network leadership curriculum for leadership organizations.
2. developing partnerships with foundations, intermediaries and leadership organizations to generate network strategies for their funding, organization, and/or initiatives: she has completed a comprehensive strategic analysis with a well-known leadership program and has provided input to the Kellogg Foundation as they develop a new leadership development initiative.
3. writing or organizing content for the field: she has written the Network Weaver Handbook and the Introduction to Network Weaving and is currently working on a Handbook on Self-organizing; she is working with others to develop a handbook on network evaluation and gathering case studies on successful networks.
4. initiating network weaver training and Community or Practice opportunities: this summer, graduates of the practicum will offer free webinars and other training opportunities; in the fall, she will begin a network training series for those interested in implementing network strategies and a community of practice for network weavers.
